Walls of Ivy wallpapers are carefully screen printed by hand using water based inks on class A, clay coated, sustainably harvested paper. All papers come unpasted and untrimmed.
CARE AND CLEANING
Walls of Ivy Papers papers are considered wipeable, not scrubbable. In general, coated papers should be gently cleaned with a soft duster. Walls of Ivy wallpapers are spot washable by gently using a solution of mild dish soap and water on a soft towel or sponge. After cleaning, rinse with water. Do not rub excessively or scrub, as this can cause burnishing. If you encounter a tough stain, you can test a non-bleach kitchen cleanser in an inconspicuous area and assess the results. If it does not remove the ink or varnish from the paper or otherwise change the appearance, then gently apply the cleanser to the stained area following the instructions above.

Walls of Ivy papers are provided untrimmed. This means that when you unroll the wallpaper, you will see that there is a blank area on the left and right sides of the wallpaper. This is called the selvage edge, and it is approximately 1.5” on each side. This will need to be trimmed off prior to installing the wallpaper. Most traditional high-end wallpaper is provided untrimmed. Untrimmed our wallpaper width is 30''. Once trimmed, our wallpaper width is 27''. Below are a few reasons why our paper is provided untrimmed.
Superior Installation: Most knowledgeable and experienced installers prefer to trim their own selvage edges. It provides them with more control when matching the wallpaper seams. Damage Prevention: The most common way a roll of wallpaper is damaged prior to installation is by being dropped on its end. When a roll of wallpaper is dropped on its end, the paper gets smashed and it can ruin the roll. This risk is significantly reduced with an untrimmed roll, since a damaged end is simply trimmed and discarded. Trimming wallpaper is an extra step, and most wallpaper installers will assign a small upcharge for this service. However, the extra step provides superior results and superior craftsmanship.
